Who can play wheelchair basketball?
Wheelchair basketball can be played by anyone who is able to push a wheelchair. As a club we are able to cater for male & female players of any age from absolute beginners to elite athletes.

How is competition made fair?
Players with a disability are given a classification relating to their ability in a basketball wheelchair. There are 8 classifications between 1 – 4.5 points. Players without a disability are classified as 5 points. In matches, the total points for all 5 players must not exceed a certain amount (e.g. Premier Division – max 14.5 points)

How much does it cost for membership??
It is currently £35 for a monthly club membership. Or you can choose to pay per session which is £7.50 anyone is entitled to a free tatser session so you can get a feel for the club and for the game.

Do I have to play competitive matches?
No, you are welcome to come along and train without the pressure of playing in a competitive environment.

Do I need to have my own basketball wheelchair?
We are have basketball wheelchairs for new members. Wheelchairs are available at all our training sessions although it is advisable to contact us prior to coming along to ensure we are able to meet your needs.

What level are the coaches?
Ben and martin are both grade 2 coaches which is the highest level of qualification availible in BWB.

How much is it to play in the leauge?
The cost to play in the national league is determined by the league you wish to play in and your age. It is currently £30 for an adult to play in the national league which is charged by British Wheelchair Basketball
